Compliance Monitoring is a key component of licensing/ approval procedure implemented by CEA.
The main responsibility of the Unit is to establish and maintain proper mechanism to regular monitoring of industries and undertakings for which license and approvals are issued by CEA.
The objective of the compliance monitoring is to ensure that the industries/ developers follow conditions stated in license/ approvals and conform to the standards and criteria set in the license andthereby control/ mitigate environmental pollution caused by such prescribed activities/ projects on the case may be.
Compliance Monitoring Unit has given priority to monitor selected high polluting and medium polluting industries related to Environmental Protection License (EPL) and Schedule Waste Management License(SWML)island wide with the assistance of network of Regional Offices.
