Indigenous medicine plays a major role in the traditional medicine system. To give a knowledge of indigenous medicine and its aspects, the National Environmental Information Centre of CEA organized an awareness program for the CEA staff on 11th December 2018 at the CEA Auditorium.
Dr. R D Ananda Thissa (PhD) Senior Librarian, Wickramarachchi Ayurveda Institute, Gampaha explained how our ancestors used traditional knowledge to cure and prevent from illnesses. He further expressed that how to practice the healthy food habits to make our body healthy. And also explained about the values of local fruits.
Mr. Gamini Jayasinghe, Deputy Director General (DDG), EE & A, Ms. Kanthi de Silva, DDG, Environment Management & Assesment, Ms. Shyamani Periyapperuma, Director- Environment Promotion Unit, Ms. Chandrika Dabare, Director- National Environmental Information Centre and staff members actively participated in this interesting program.
