STAKEHOLDER WORKSHOP TO DISCUSS DRAFT EXTENDED PRODUCER RESPONSIBILITY REGULATIONS

භාවිතයෙන් පසු බැහැරලන ප්ලාස්ටික් නිෂ්පාදන සහ ප්ලාස්ටික් ඇසුරුම් කළමනාකරණයට අදාළවනිෂ්පාදකයාගේ විස්තිර්ණ වගකීමපිළිබඳ රෙගුලාසිය පිළිබඳව සාකච්ඡා කිරීම සඳහා විශේෂ වැඩමුළුවක් මධ්‍යම පරිසර අධිකාරියේ අධ්‍යක්ෂ ජනරාල් පී.බී. හේමන්ත ජයසිංහ මහතාගේ ප්‍රධානත්වයෙන් මොනාච් ඉම්පීරියල් හෝටලයේදී පවත්වන ලදඅතර මේ සඳහා ප්‍රධාන පෙලේ ප්ලාස්ටික් නිෂ්පාදකයින් සහ අදාළ රජයේ ආයතනවල නිලධාරීන් සහභාගි වූහ. මෙහිදි මයික්‍රෝ ප්ලාස්ටික් පිළිබඳව ආරාධිත දේශනය මොරටුව විශ්ව විද්‍යාලයේ ජ්‍යෙෂ්ඨ කථිකාචාර්ය මහාචාර්ය ශාන්තා එගොඩගේ මහත්මිය විසින් පවත්වන ලද අතර පොලිතින් ප්ලාස්ටික්වලටඅදාළ රෙගුලාසිවල නීතීමය රාමුව පිළිබඳව විස්තර කරන ලද්දේ නීති උපදේශක ආනන්ද ලාල් මහතා විසිනි. මෙම වැඩමුළුව සඳහා දායකත්වය දක්වන ලද්දේ එක්සත් ජාතීන්ගේ ක්ලීන් සිටීස් බ්ලූ ඕෂන් වැඩසටහනේ, ශ්‍රී ලංකා ප්ලාස්ටික් අපද්‍රව්‍ය නියාමනය කිරීමේ ව්‍යාපෘතිය යටතේ ක්‍රියාත්මක ආයතනයක් වන මහජන අවශ්‍යතා නීතී පදනම(Public Interest Law Foundation)විසිනි.

The Central Environmental Authority has organized a workshop to discuss the draft Extended Producer Responsibility Regulations. The workshop is facilitated by the Public Interest Law Foundation under the project Regulating Plastic Waste in Sri Lanka under USAID’s Clean Cities, Blue Ocean program. The workshop was held recently at the Monarch Imperial Hotel, Battaramulla with the participation of leading Plastic manufactures and relevant Government Agencies. Mr. Hemantha Jayasinghe, Director General of the CEA done the welcome speech of the program. Prof. Shantha Egodage, Senior Lecturer, University of Moratuwa done the guest lecture on the Micro Plastic and Mr. Ananda Lal, Legal Consultant explained about the legal frame work of the plastic regulations.
