World Water Day Celebration Program

Details

To commemorate the World Water Day, the National Forum of Environmental Pioneers, led by the Environment Education Unit was organized a special program on 24th March 2025 at the Department of Geographical Science, University of Colombo, with the participation of Director General of the Central Environmental Authority.

In the program a panel discussion was held under the theme of “Water for the Future: Conservation, Sustainability and Resilience with the participation Dr. Ajith Gunawardena, Director Environmental Education Unit of the Central Environmental Authority, Dr. Ayomi Vitarana, Lecturer, Faculty of Science, University of Colombo, Dr. Lal Muthuwatta, Deputy Country Manager, International Water Management Institute, and Professor Lalith Rajapaksa, Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Engineering, University of Moratuwa. The panel discussion was moderated by Dr. Asitha de Silva, Lecturer, Faculty of Arts, University of Colombo. For this program nearly, 75 participants including lecturers, students of the Department of Geography, University of Colombo and members of the Environmental National Forum Pioneers participated.
