The Environment Education Unit of the CEA organized two days residential training program for teachers who guide the presidential medal candidates. It’s mainly focused to develop and enhance the quality as well as quantity of presidential medalist in environment pioneer program. The program was held on 7th , 8th June 2019 at the National Institute of Plantation Management, Athurugiriya. Nearly, 42 teachers participated in this program.
Furthermore, several lectures were conducted to give comprehensive knowledge in project implementation & project report writing by Dr. Ajith Gunawardhane, Deputy Director, R & D, Mr. Ajith Herath, Assistant Director, EEU.
Also, participants visited the waste Management Centre at Kaduwela Municipal council and wetland premises near to the southern expressway to observe and collect data for practical session. Furthermore, teachers participated in exercises and meditation session to relax and rejuvenate their mind and body.
The program was inaugurated with the participation of Mr. Premarathne Dissnayake, Director, Environment Education Unit and with the support of the officers of the Unit the program was conducted.
