Awareness on EPL for owners of Three Wheeler & Motor Bike Service Stations

The Gampaha District office of the CEA organized an awareness program for the owners of three wheeler and motor bike service stations, in regards to Environment Protection License (EPL) process. Under the guidance of Mr. Chathura Malwana, Director, Gampaha District Office and the initiative of Devid Pieris Motor Company the program was held at the Nature Garden Hotel, Yakkala on 29th January 2019.
In the present the three wheelers and motor bikes are very popular method of transportation in general public. The environmental impact of those vehicles can be controlled by the precise maintenance and the usage. To provide guidance to the service station owners with the particular knowledge on EPL was the main objective of organizing this program.

Several lectures on the legal framework of obtaining an EPL, according to the National Environmental Act, the standards and procedures for environmental pollution control with accordance to CEA and the analyzing of reports were delivered by Ms. A M R Indumathi, Deputy Director, Gampaha District Office and Mr. M P Priyantha, Chemist respectively.

Environmental Officers and other relevant officers of Gampaha District office participated in the occasion.
