Environment Pioneer’s Forum

With the objective of establishing a Presidential medalist forum, the Central Environmental Authority launched a national program on 12th January 2018 with the participation of 91 Presidential medal holders. This forum will lead to obtain the leadership and the unity of the medalist spread in the island wide, to conserve the environment.

In this program several District Level forums were established where as the National Level forum was established in the CEA Head Office. Dr. Randika Jayasinghe, Senior Lecture, University of Sri Jayawardhanapura delivered a lecture on “Start appropriate self occupation through waste management” and Mr. Duglas Thisera, Chairman, Mangrove Conservation Project explained about the Actions have to take to conserve the Mangrove Eco system.

Furthermore the medal holders expressed their current activities based on the district level and the view of the future plans on environment conservation. CEA invites the other medal holders to join with this program and make it success to promote the environment conservation message among the society. Mr. Gamini Jayasinghe Deputy Director General, EE & A Division, Mr. Premarathne Dissanayake, Director, Environment Education and several other staff members participated in the event and the program was successfully concluded.
