With parallel to the International Day of the World’s Indigenous People’s the Environment Education Division of the Central Environmental Authority organized an especial lecture on 9th August 2018, for the entire staff of the CEA.
Mr. Chandrarathne Pallegama, Chairman, CEA welcome the gathering and expressed about the way of changing the lifestyle of Indigenous people at the present Sri Lanka.
The special guest lecture on the “Environment & Indeginous People” was done by Dr. D M Suratissa, Museum Curator, Department of Zoology, Science Faculty, University of Colombo. In his lecture he briefly explained about the evolution of the human, the tools they used and the Eras of the history and Eco – Friendly activities of Indigenous People.
Stone tools used by indigenous people and the relevant posters were presented for observation of the gathering.
