Nowadays, the Central Environmental Authority conducts many programs to create Eco-friendly citizen in Sri Lanka. According to that, the Environmental Education and Awareness Division conduct awareness programs on Environment Pioneer Program for the trainee teachers studying at the National College of Education who will be appointed as teachers in the future. The main objective of this teacher training program is to disperse the Environmental conservation and protection message among the students.
On 14th July, one of the training programs was conducted at the National College of Education, Jaffna. Two more programs have already been conducted at the National College of Education, Akuressa and Vavuniya. Several other programs will be conducted in the rest of the National College of Education.
In this program Mr. Premarathna Dissanayake, Director, Environment Education unit, Mr. T Suboharan, Assistant Director of the Northen Provincial Office and other relevant officers were participated.
