The Central Environmental Authority continually conducts the island wide raiding programs for banned polythene manufactures, sellers & dealers, according to the gazettes notification, which was strictly from 1st of January 2018.
As a continuation of the raiding program, the officers of the CEA inspect the Piliyandala & Rathmalana areas on 9th & 12th March respectively. Five raids done in Piliyandala & nine raids done in Rathmalana areas. It has been recognized that the majority of the business entities using Biodegradable plastic products as alternatives.Senior officers of the Waste Management Unit and other relevant officers were participated in these raids.
