E – Friends ii , Revolving Fund loans for Eco friendly Entrepreneur

Budget 2018 proposed to implement the “Pavithra Ganga” initiative with concessionary financial assistance under the E- friends credit facility . The initiative target  zero disposal of wastewater by industries and tourist hotels into the rivers, lagoon and estuaries by 2023, which is a development goal to be fulfilled  by the government.

This is one of the development goal that have to be fulfilled by the government. Considering the needfullnes of this goal Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Industries & Commerce has decided to give the E- Friend loan for the industries which is situated in the Kaleni river basin as a pilot project.The ministries decided to provide 750 million rupees for the entrepreneurs to develop Eco friendly strategies such as industrial pollution control,resource recocvery and savings,environment improvement initiatives and implement waste minimization technologies.

The selection of suitable industries to provide this loan is carried out with the consultation of the Central Environmental Authority.     
This will be a great opportunity for the industries to go green by apply  Eco friendly strategies and maintain best practices.

To aware entrepreneur about this E- Friends ii revolving fund loan, a workshop was conducted on 27th of February 2018 at the CEA Auditorium with the participation of  36 entrepreneurs.
